Dated back to the early days, cultism in Nigerian campuses originated from unions formed by students, to fight injustice against students by the lectures.
But cultism over the years, has evolved to be a highly dreaded and faceless monster, feeding on the blood of its very own and narrowing the way to life after graduation.
So is the story of Auchi, a once peaceful and busy town before it turned into a hunting arena of blood by initiates of various campus cult groups.
Though it hasn’t been stated clearly at least none that we know of, the reason for this raging inferno amongst each other, but it is crystal clear that the resultant effect thereof, would be a bitter pill to swallow.
The whole drama has led to school activities being suspended for some students still in school and most shops not opened for this singular reason.
Police took the stage as at yesterday the 22nd day of September 2019, as they were sighted to have made lots of arrest within the scenes of the crime still all that is heard is a sad news of sorrow.
The drums of death is relentlessly herald every second in Auchi leaving people with an immeasurable level of fear and uncertainty. Students are scared of leaving the house to avoid being scapegoats or victim of circumstances by the Police therefore putting every business on hold.
The whole streets of sabo are seen to be empty as students have either run for their dear lives, or hidden indoors.
The habitants of this part of the country, plead amidst tears that something be done about this unreasonable showdown of power.
Cultism is a bad thing and every youth should shun it with passion.
